Senator Michael Hastings was born on 6^th October 1980, and he is a democrat of district Illinois. Hastings before getting into the political world served U.S Army and later on became the vice-president of a school board. He was raised in Oakland along with his other five siblings. Hastings got his bachelor degree at West Point and got commissioned in US army after his graduation. He served the US Army in Iraq as a captain and earned a bronze star for his extraordinary services. Michael got his master’s degree from the University of Illinois in business administration and he earned a doctorate degree from John Marshall Law School in Chicago. 

Hastings started his public service when he was first elected in a Board of trustees for high school in District 230. Since then, MichaelHastings Tinley Park has worked a lot for the welfare of the people in many ways. He has worked dedicatedly with the president of Southern Illinois University and State Universities Retirement System to combat the shortfall of pension. Furthermore, to boost the job opportunities in the area, he worked hard for the funding for the development of a new airport in the city Peotone. 

Keeping his good work in continuation, Hastings has also pushed the police department to use the old and vacant North high school building located in Frankfort. As the school building is huge and vacant, it can be utilized to build a big crime lab which will also bring some jobs in the area.

Michael Hastings Illinois has also started planning to build a psychiatric hospital in Tinley Park. The mental health care in the area is not so good, and residents have to go far located hospital to get the inpatient mental health care. 

Other than being a good public servant, Hastings is also a helpful person who helps anyone at any time. Recently, when a freshman from Republican State Representative Mike Murphy choked, Michael did a Heimlich manoeuvre on him which made the food to come up. Mike has spoken many good things about the senator after this incident. Looking at all the things that the senator has done, we can say that he is one of the best senators of Illinois till now.
